Cookie Policy
Effective date: April 16, 2026
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Cookies let a site
remember things between page loads or between visits — for example, whether you have already
dismissed a banner, or what language you prefer. Similar technologies include
localStorage, which is what we use in most cases to remember your consent
choices on this Site. This policy uses the word "cookies" to cover both.
2. Our approach: consent first
IGH Tax Services takes a consent-first approach. When you first visit ighservices.com we load only strictly-necessary cookies. Nothing else — no analytics, no third-party embeds, no advertising — loads until you explicitly opt in through our cookie banner or the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer.
3. Categories of cookies we use
3.1 Essential (always on)
These cookies are required for the Site to function and cannot be disabled. They do not store any information that personally identifies you beyond what is necessary to deliver the requested page.
igh_consent— first-party cookie (and mirrored tolocalStorage) storing your cookie preferences. Retention: twelve (12) months.- Rate-limit counters — server-side only, keyed by IP address, not stored as a cookie in your browser. Retention: one (1) hour.
3.2 Analytics (off by default)
At launch we do not set any analytics cookies. If we later add privacy-respecting analytics (for example Vercel Analytics or Plausible), they will load only after you opt in through the cookie banner or Privacy Center, and we will update this policy with the specific cookie names and retention periods.
3.3 Marketing (off by default)
The only marketing category cookies we currently enable are those set by Calendly when you use its embedded scheduler on our Contact page. Calendly's cookies load only if you opt in to marketing cookies; otherwise we replace the embed with a plain link that opens Calendly in a new tab — Calendly will set its own cookies there, but only on its own domain and only if you actively use that page. See the Calendly privacy notice for details.
4. First-party vs third-party cookies
First-party cookies are set by ighservices.com directly. Third-party cookies are set by a domain other than ighservices.com — for example, calendly.com. We only allow third-party cookies from marketing-category providers after you opt in.
5. How to manage cookies
- Use the "Your Privacy Choices" link in our footer to open the Privacy Center and update your consent for each category at any time.
- Your browser also lets you block or delete cookies through its settings. The exact steps vary by browser — see aboutcookies.org for instructions.
- If you block essential cookies the Site may not function correctly.
6. Global Privacy Control
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or a browser extension sends GPC on your requests, we treat it as a valid opt-out: we skip the cookie banner, we do not load analytics or marketing cookies, and we show a small confirmation notice that your GPC preference has been respected.
7. Retention
Consent cookies are kept for up to twelve (12) months, after which we will ask again. Other categories are retained only as long as you leave them enabled, or until you clear your browser storage.
8. Changes to this policy
If we add a new cookie or change the retention period of an existing one, we will update this page and show a notice on the Site. The "Effective date" at the top will always reflect the most recent change.
